Welcome to Athens! Upon arrival at the airport or port, you’ll be met by your private driver and transferred to your hotel downtown. After settling in, we recommend a gentle walk into Plaka, Athens’ oldest quarter. Stroll narrow streets lined with neoclassical houses, boutique shops, and inviting tavernas nestled under the Acropolis. Overnight Athens.
After breakfast, join a half-day guided tour of Athens’ highlights. Begin with a stop at the Panathenaic Stadium, site of the first modern Olympic Games in 1896. Pass the Prime Minister’s residence, the Temple of Olympian Zeus, Hadrian’s Arch, and Syntagma Square, where the Evzones stand guard at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier. Continue to the Acropolis to see the Parthenon, Propylaea, Temple of Athena Nike, and Erechtheion. Finally, visit the Acropolis Museum, where masterpieces of classical art are beautifully displayed.
